Call to Order: Meeting was called to order by Chairman King at 6:30 pm, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Verify Open Meeting Notice & Roll Call: Open meeting notice was verified. Chairman Maurice King, Supervisor Dennis Meis, Supervisor Dennis Hintz, Clerk Angie Lochinger and Treasurer Josie Napiwocki were present. 0 Town Residents\Visitors.

Approval of Minutes from the meeting of August 17 2022: Supervisor Hintz motioned to approve the August 17, 2022 Minutes as presented. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Citizens wishing to address the Town Board: None

Supervisor Comments/Concerns: Supervisor Hintz stated he may be stepping down from the Town Plan Commission. He also reported a bush on Dewey Drive that needs trimming.

Clerk Lochinger discussed an upgraded voting machine called the ExpressVote that the County Clerk will be providing a demonstration on at the upcoming WTA Unit Meeting.

Tax Collection Agreement with Portage County: Treasurer Napiwocki provided an updated tax collection agreement with Portage County for the board to consider. Updates include the County making general tax fund transfers weekly, December 7th – February 8th, rather than daily.

Supervisor Meis motioned to approve the Tax Collection Agreement with Portage County. Supervisor Hintz seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

2022-2023 Winter Propane Contract: The board reviewed winter propane contracts from Pro Vision and Cooper Oil. The board agreed they would like a little more clarification on Pro Vision’s contract.

Supervisor Meis motioned to discuss the specifics of the contract with Pro Vision, if acceptable then to move forward with their contract. If not acceptable, then approve Cooper Oil’s contract. Supervisor Hintz seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Tentative approval of reformatted/updated Ordinances No.1, No.2, No.4, No.7 and No.8: Supervisor Hintz motioned to tentatively approve the reformatted/updated Ordinances Numbers 1, 4, 7 and 8 and to postpone action on Ordinance Number 2 until we get further clarification regarding citation enforcement. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Noise ordinance and alcohol control ordinance: The board discussed creating a noise ordinance and alcohol control ordinance.

2023 budget work: The board set October meeting dates to work on the budget.

Treasurer/Clerk Reports for August: The board reviewed the August Treasurer and Clerk reports, and August’s reports balanced.

Supervisor Hintz motioned to accept the Treasurer and Clerk reports as presented. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Correspondence: The board reviewed correspondence.

Chairperson’s Report on town work and activities: Chairman King reported repairs to the concrete by the middle service door to the town garage is being done, the Park Road culvert project is completed and the Highway Department can now blacktop the culvert. He also reported chip seal work on Lilac Lane, a shared road with the Town of Hull, has been postponed until next year. Town employees have been cutting shoulders, trimming trees and working on equipment.

Set Meeting Dates & Agendas: The next Town Board Meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 6:30 pm and Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 6:30 pm at the Dewey Town Hall.

Approve and Pay Bills: Supervisor Meis motioned to approve and pay the bills. Supervisor Hintz seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Adjournment: Chairman King adjourned the meeting at 8:10 pm.
