Call to Order: Meeting was called to order by Chairman King at 6:42 pm, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Verify Open Meeting Notice & Roll Call: Open meeting notice was verified. Chairman Maurice King, Supervisor Dennis Meis, Supervisor Dennis Hintz, Clerk Angie Lochinger and Treasurer Josie Napiwocki were present. 6 Town Residents\Visitors.

Approval of April 24, 2019, April 29, 2019 and April 30, 2019 Minutes: Supervisor Hintz motioned to approve the April 24, 2019 Minutes as presented with one correction to remove the words “and near the Tiki Bar” from the section “Request to post speed limits on several town roads”. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Supervisor Meis motioned to approve the April 29, 2019 Minutes as presented. Supervisor Hintz seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Supervisor Meis motioned to approve the April 30, 2019 Minutes as presented. Supervisor Hintz seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Citizens wishing to address the Town Board: Chief Leroy Pukrop provided an update on the fire department automatic aid with the Town of Hull. He reported all paperwork has been signed and sent to Portage County. Supervisor Dennis Meis asked for an update on the garage roofing repair project. Chairman King explained the loan was approved and received and we have sent a check for half down to Steel Shield to order materials.

Amherst Telephone Company Fiber Optic Project Update: Amherst Telephone Company General Manager Rick Letto, attended the meeting to provide a map and progress updates on the fiber optic project. He reported they would like to have the project done by the end of the year.

Josh Kolodziej Proposed Eagle Scout Project Presentation: Josh Kolodziej proposed raising funds to build a flag pole at the town hall as his Eagle Scout Project. He discussed height and style options with the board as well as location and lighting ideas. Mr. Kolodziej also suggested possibly adding a plaque dedicating the flag pole to our local volunteer service members and Veterans.

Discussion/Action on the proposed Eagle Scout Project: Supervisor Hintz motioned to approve the proposed Eagle Scout project from Josh Kolodziej for a flag pole with the goal of 30 feet high. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Quotes for repairs to the bridge on Sunset Drive north of County Road DB: Chairman King explained he had previously received a quote for repairs to the bridge on Sunset Drive north of County Road DB from Norcon Corporation for $4,885. He provided a quote from Fahrner Asphalt of $13,000 and reported they are most likely doing a different process.

Supervisor Meis motioned to use Norcon Corporation for the bridge repair work on Sunset Drive north of County Road DB. Supervisor Hintz seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Independent Contractor Verification Form: Chairman King explained at a recent Wisconsin Towns Association meeting they discussed using an Independent Contractor Verification Form with 9 points you should ask a contractor before they start work. The board reviewed the 9 point Independent Contractor Verification Form to have signed by contractors going forward and kept on file.

Updating of the Portage County’s Hazardous Mitigation Plan: Chairman King explained Portage County is currently updating their Hazardous Mitigation Plan. Chairman King, Clerk Lochinger and First Responder Committee Chair Brian Lepper attended the County meeting where they requested each municipality identify at least one project they feel can make a difference in reducing hazard or risk to your jurisdiction.

Treasurer/Clerk Reports for April: Treasurer Josie Napiwocki read the April Treasurer’s report, and Aprils’s reports were reviewed and balanced.

Supervisor Meis motioned to accept the Treasurer and Clerk reports as presented. Supervisor Hintz seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Chairperson’s Report on town work and activities: Chairman King reported all new signs are up, one town road worker took a couple weeks of vacation, they have finished sweeping all roads, started grading, fixing equipment and roadside garbage clean up.

Correspondence: The board reviewed correspondence.

Set Meeting Dates & Agendas: The next Town Board Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 6:30 pm at the Dewey Town Hall.

Approve and Pay Bills: Supervisor Hintz motioned to approve and pay the bills. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Adjournment: Chairman King adjourned the meeting at 8:16 pm.
