Call to Order: Meeting was called to order by Chairman King at 6:30 pm, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Verify Open Meeting Notice & Roll Call: Open meeting notice was verified. Chairman Maurice King, Supervisor Dennis Meis, Supervisor Dave Zdroik, Clerk Angie Lochinger and Treasurer Josie Napiwocki were present. 4 Town Residents\Visitors.
Approval of June 20, 2018 Minutes: Supervisor Meis motioned to approve the June 20, 2018 Minutes as presented. Supervisor Zdroik seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Citizens wishing to Address the Town Board: Supervisor Meis inquired if there is a specific spot with in the dump where brush should be hauled. Chief Leroy Pukrop explained when you drive in there is an area cleared out to the left further back where you can leave the brush.
Bids for the delivery of Crushed Granite: The board reviewed bids for the delivery of crushed granite from Ladick Road Materials and Red Rock Granite.
Supervisor Zdroik motioned to accept the bid from Ladick Road Materials for delivery of crushed granite from the Red Rock Quarry. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Moving the Town’s tax account from JP Morgan Chase Bank to Investor’s Community Bank: Treasurer Napiwocki researched interest rates/earning potential with Investor’s Community Bank vs our current bank JP Morgan Chase as well as another local Credit Union. Investor’s Community Bank is offering significantly higher rates than what we are earning now. The Board reviewed rate sheets and discussed options with Treasurer Napiwocki.
Supervisor Meis motioned we move our tax account from JP Morgan Chase Bank to Investor’s Community Bank. Supervisor Zdroik seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Quotes for repairs to town garage roof: The board reviewed quotes for repairs to the town garage roof.
Supervisor Meis motioned to use Brighter Exteriors for the painting of the garage roof. Supervisor Zdroik seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Review results of town officials salary survey: Clerk Lochinger provided the results from other area towns that participated in our salary survey. The board reviewed how our current salaries and duties compare to other area official’s salaries. Chairman King advised any changes to salaries would need to be made at the fall Budget meeting.
Update on purchase of one ton pickup truck and loan process: Chairman King provided an update on the purchase and loan process of the one ton pickup truck which are completed.
Operator licenses: Supervisor Meis motioned to approve the operator licenses as presented. Supervisor Zdroik seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Closed Session: Supervisor Zdroik motioned to enter into Closed Session per Wis. Stats. 19.85(1)(c) to perform interviews of candidates for position of Road & Maintenance Worker at 7:18 p.m. to discuss employment consideration of candidates for position of Town Road & Maintenance worker and to discuss job offer(s) for candidates for full and/or part time position for Road & Maintenance Worker. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Chairman King brought the meeting back to open session at 8:40 p.m.
Proposal to meet with candidate(s) for the position(s) of Town Road & Maintenance Worker to extent an offer(s) of employment: Supervisor Meis motioned to extend full time road and maintenance employment to Dave Larson at a rate of $18 an hour with a review after 90 days. Supervisor Zdroik seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Correspondence: The Board reviewed correspondence.
Chairperson Report on town work and activities: Chairman King reported that reflectivity inspections have been completed and new signs have been ordered. New culverts have been delivered. The road workers have been cutting ditches and sweeping roads. The board reviewed the Road Work Projects List and Work List of items to be completed yet.
Budget Review: The board reviewed the year to date budget.
Treasurer/Clerk Reports for June: Treasurer Josie Napiwocki read the June Treasurer’s report, and June’s reports were reviewed and balanced.
Supervisor Zdroik motioned to accept the Treasurer and Clerk reports as presented. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Set Meeting Dates & Agendas: The next Town Board Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 6:30 pm at the Dewey Town Hall.
Approve and Pay Bills: Supervisor Meis motioned to approve and pay the bills. Supervisor Zdroik seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Adjournment: Chairman King adjourned the meeting 9:20 pm
