January 28, 2018 Town Plan Commission Site Visit Meeting

Pourchot Site Visit
Sunday, January 28, 2018, 1:00 p.m.
1) Welcome and acknowledgements by Commission chair for attendees including but not limited to: the Pourchots; Town Plan Commission members; Town Board Members; Portage County Planning & Zoning employees; invited neighbors; etc.
a. Planning Commission members: Kathy Girolamo, Betty Pionek, Doug Evica and Sandy Meis.
b. There were 8 Residents and 2 town board members present.
2) Open Meeting Notices were verified.
3) Site visit at Regan and Ann Pourchot property at 4532 County Road X (and if needed at 4646 County Road X), Mosinee, WI 54455 (located at the NW corner of County Roads DB and X). Regarding a request to amend the Town of Dewey Comprehensive Plan and Town of Dewey Zoning Map (rezoning), and a request for Special Exceptions to allow multiple land uses.
Parcel #’s 014-25-0701-13.02 (4532 County Road X), 014-25-0701-04.04 (4646 County Road X), and 014-25-0701-03.03 that are owned by Regan and Ann Pourchot. These properties are dissected by the Little Eau Claire River and are zoned A4 and Conservancy. New data according to Portage County Planning and Zoning Department (2009 floodplain and 2016 wetland) shows that portions of these parcels could be removed from the Conservancy district, which would include the barn that is currently in the Conservancy zone at 4532 County Road X.
The Pourchots’ propose to operate an agricultural event center, tourist rooming house and campground on parcel # 014-25-0701-13.02 with signage that exceeds six square feet. Proposal includes having the campground extend north with potential sites in the SW corner of parcel #014-25-0701-04.04 and SE corner of parcel #014-25-0701-03.03.
a. The commission met and toured the Pourchot property.
4) Meeting to discuss the Comprehensive Plan Amendment, Rezoning, and Special Exception requests is scheduled for Tuesday January 30th 2018 at 5:30 pm at the Dewey Town Hall.
