Call to Order: Meeting was called to order by Chairman King at 6:30 pm, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Verify Open Meeting Notice & Roll Call: Open meeting notice was verified. Chairman Maurice King, Supervisor Dennis Meis, Supervisor Dave Zdroik, Clerk Angie Lochinger and Treasurer Josie Napiwocki were present. 7 Town Residents\Visitors.
Approval of February 6, 2019 Minutes: Supervisor Zdroik motioned to approve the February 6, 2019 Minutes as presented. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Citizens wishing to address the Town Board: Supervisor Dave Zdroik and his wife Judy donated $200 towards the purchase of the town’s future ATV/UTV signs. Supervisor Zdroik also provided the board with a packet on grader training services.
Quotes for repair roof on the town garage: The board opened and reviewed nine quotes for the repair of the roof on the town garage. Many of the quotes were for a rubber membrane style roof. Representatives from Steel Shield LLC and Lang and Son Roofing attended the meeting to provide more information and answer questions about their quotes for metal roofing. The board agreed they would prefer metal roofing and would like to invite Steel Shield LLC and Lang and Son Roofing back for further discussion.
Supervisor Meis motioned to postpone action on the roof repair until they have more information. Supervisor Zdroik seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Liquor license application for Sunset Bay Grill, LLC, Diana Greiner agent: The board reviewed the new alcohol beverage license application for a Class “B” Combination Beer & Liquor License for Sunset Bay Grill, LLC. Chairman King explained that the new lessees of Sunset Bay Grill, LLC; Steve and Diana Greiner are requesting the license for April 1, 2019. They are currently working towards all the qualifications to receive the license. Chairman King explained they have not yet met the 90 days WI residency requirement, do not have a sellers permit and have not completed a responsible beverage training course. Chairman King explained the board would be able to approve the license if they choose to, but not physically issue it until these three conditions are met.
Supervisor Meis motioned to approve the liquor license as presented with the three conditions; 90 days WI residency is met, a sellers permit is provided and responsible beverage training courses are completed. Supervisor Zdroik seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Update on Oakwood Drive reconstruction project: Supervisor Meis mentioned he needs to call diggers hotline once the snow melts a little. Chairman King stated he checked with the assessor and it would cost roughly $3,000 an acre on the right-of way, which would cost around $12,000 -$14,000 total. Chairman King also reported 4 trees were cut down with 3 left.
Updates to the Employee Handbook: The board reviewed updates made to the employee handbook. Supervisor Zdroik motioned to approve updates to the Employee Handbook as presented. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Correspondence: The board reviewed correspondence.
Chairperson’s report on town work and activities: Chairman King reported the town workers have been busy plowing and sanding, cutting trees on Oakwood Drive and working on equipment repairs. He also mentioned the Sterling will need some repair work such as the pump and radiator replaced.
Moving MFL monies to CD account: Treasurer Napiwocki explained we have $9,319.49 of MFL Funds from the tax roll that are not due to be paid to Portage County until November 15, 2019, leaving us with the opportunity to invest the funds to earn some interest. She provided the board with multiple options for investment, explaining the interest rates and earning potential of each option.
Supervisor Meis motioned to keep the funds in our current Investors Community Bank money market account. Supervisor Zdroik seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Treasurer/Clerk Reports for January: Treasurer Josie Napiwocki read the January Treasurer’s report, and January’s reports were reviewed and balanced.
Supervisor Zdroik motioned to accept the Treasurer and Clerk reports as presented. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Set Meeting Dates & Agendas: The next Town Board Meetings are scheduled for Wednesday March 13, 2019 and Wednesday March 20, 2019 at the Dewey Town Hall.
Approve and Pay Bills: Supervisor Zdroik motioned to approve and pay the bills. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Adjournment: Chairman King adjourned the meeting 8:35 pm.
