Call to Order: Meeting was called to order by Chairman King at 6:30 pm, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Verify Open Meeting Notice & Roll Call: Open meeting notice was verified. Chairman Maurice King, Supervisor Dennis Meis, Supervisor Dennis Hintz, Clerk Angie Lochinger and Treasurer Josie Napiwocki were present. 4 Town Residents\Visitors.

Approval of Minutes from the meetings of March 17, 2021: Supervisor Hintz motioned to approve the March 17, 2021 Minutes as presented. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Citizens wishing to address the Town Board: Supervisor Meis reported after shouldering, the County left piles of loose granite all over the corner of Oakwood Drive and County Highway X, near Rangeline Family Bar & Grill.

Bids for chip sealing of existing hard surfaced covered town roads: The board reviewed two bids for chip seal work on portions of Scenic Drive, Scenic Circle, Quartz Lane, West River Road, Bay View Drive, Eau Claire Road, and Bay View Circle. A representative from Fahrner Asphalt Sealers, LLC attended the meeting to discuss their bid of $61,750.04. A bid was also received from Scott Construction, Inc. in the amount of $65,478.

Supervisor Meis expressed concerns over double chip seal work completed by Fahrner Asphalt in 2020 on the Oakwood Drive reconstruction project. He explained the stone is coming loose and is too porous. He would like them to review Oakwood Drive before accepting another chip seal bid from them.

Supervisor Meis motioned to postpone action on the chip seal bids until the next town meeting. Supervisor Hintz seconded. Chairman King opposed. Motion passed 2-1.

Bids for crushed granite delivered: The board reviewed two bids for crushed granite delivered for sections of Haymeadow Drive and Birch Drive. A representative from Ladick Road Materials attended the meeting to discuss their bid. A bid was also received from Earth Inc.

Supervisor Meis motioned to accept the bid from Ladick Road Materials at a cost of $34,735.14 for crushed granite delivered, on three sections of road, as presented in the bid. Supervisor Hintz seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Quotes for crushed granite, road base material and road work equipment for 2021: The board reviewed and discussed price quotes received for crushed granite, road base material and road work equipment. Quotes will be filed for use throughout this construction season.

Purchasing an extended warranty for the town’s standby generator: The board reviewed an extended warranty offer received in the mail for the town’s generator.

Supervisor Hintz motioned to postpone action on purchasing an extended warranty for the generator until we get more information regarding our current coverage. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Resolution designating public depository and authorizing withdrawal of town moneys: Supervisor Meis motioned to approve the resolution designating public depository and authorizing withdrawal of town moneys. Supervisor Hintz seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Purchase of a wood chipper: Chairman King provided information on wood chippers available for purchase at Sand County Equipment. Supervisor Meis agreed to go along with the town employees to look at them.

Operator license for C & D Hospitality: Supervisor Meis motioned to approve the operator license for
C & D Hospitality as presented. Supervisor Hintz seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Treasurer/Clerk Reports for March: Treasurer Josie Napiwocki read the March Treasurer’s report, and March’s reports were reviewed and balanced.

Supervisor Hintz motioned to accept the Treasurer and Clerk reports as presented. Supervisor Meis seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Correspondence: The board reviewed correspondence.

Chairperson’s Report on town work and activities: Chairman King provided a list of work the town employees have been doing and reported they have been grading and sweeping.

Changing the start time of Town Board Meetings: Supervisor Hintz mentioned he might be running a little late to some of the upcoming town meetings due to his work schedule.

Supervisor Meis motioned to keep the meeting start time as 6:30 pm. Supervisor Hintz seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Set Meeting Dates & Agendas: The next Town Board Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday,
May 19, 2021 at 6:30 pm at the Dewey Town Hall.

Open Book with the assessor is scheduled for Monday, May 10, 2021 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm BY TELEPHONE ONLY. PLEASE CALL 715-848-9300 TO SPEAK TO THE ASSESSOR.

Board of Review is scheduled for Monday, May 17, 2021 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at the Dewey Town Hall.

Approve and Pay Bills: Supervisor Meis motioned to approve and pay the bills. Supervisor Hintz seconded. Motion passed 3-0.

Adjournment: Chairman King adjourned the meeting at 8:46 pm.
